"Our ministry goes beyond vocational training. It is also a journey of discipleship.”
Through Almond Tree’s skill-based giving ministry, we seek to create vocational opportunities for young people in small-town communities, helping them build practical skills and move toward greater financial stability and independence.
Many young people face an uncertain future. They may not know what skills to pursue, and even when they are eager to learn, they often lack the financial resources to purchase the tools and supplies needed to begin. The establishment of the Almond Tree Training Center has opened a door of opportunity, providing access to professional tools, hands-on instruction, and practical training that might otherwise be beyond their reach.
At Almond Tree, we believe that when practical skills are combined with faith, guidance, and opportunities to serve, lives can be transformed.
We equip faithful individuals in foreign missionary work with skills to revitalize their ministries, offer mental health seminars, and engage directly in mission fields to teach and empower local communities.
Through these efforts, we enhance our own talents, foster lasting relationships with those in need, and support healing and recovery, all while exalting God and building new connections. Our future is one in which we continue progressing the word of God in a community that can share resources, skills, talent, and support.
On August 27th, 2024, The Branch of Almond Tree completed our 13th seminar to Ensenada, Mexico. Partnering with missionaries, pastors, ministers, and experienced cosmetologists, we’ve successfully forged a significant bond between the Mexican and Korean communities. Through the impartation of invaluable cosmetology skills, our initiative aims to empower the local Mexican community with the requisite tools and education to pursue careers as hairstylists with hair cutting skills, and secure meaningful employment. “Almond Tree Mission visits an orphanage in Mexico, Ensenada. They do more than simply provide food; by donating their talents and teaching practical skills, they plant seeds of hope so the children can become self-reliant. Through learning these skills, they discover what they are capable of doing well. From beauty services and nursing care to nail art, they are preparing to move forward in life independently, without relying on others.
Some of the sisters who have learned beauty skills have formed teams and now volunteer at local nursing homes in the area.”
Almond Tree volunteers are grateful and proud to share the love and joy of Christ by donating our skills, time, and companionship with the most wise and often overlooked members of our community.

Season 1 at the Almond Tree Ensenada Center has come to a successful and grace-filled conclusion.
The journey was not without challenges. Hurricane-related flooding affected Ensenada, particularly the Maneadero area of Mexico. Sadly, five students were unable to participate because they were involved in recovery efforts following the disaster. Despite these difficulties, the students who continued the program demonstrated remarkable determination, commitment, and enthusiasm.
One of the most meaningful experiences was visiting nursing homes and rehabilitation centers, where students provided haircuts to many people. These service opportunities allowed them to practice and apply the skills they had learned in real-life settings. We were grateful to see their training become an opportunity to serve others with care and compassion.
At the graduation presentation, Luis earned first place. He shared that he had spent considerable time practicing at home, and his impressive skills reflected his dedication and hard work. His progress was a wonderful example of what consistent effort can achieve, and we look forward to seeing how he continues to grow. All the students presented satisfying final projects, demonstrating the progress they had made throughout the program.
The greatest achievement of Almond Tree Ensenada Center — Season 1 was not simply teaching beauty skills. It was helping students gain confidence, discover opportunities for self-sufficiency, and recognize how their skills could become a means of serving their communities.
We are deeply grateful to every student who persevered through challenging circumstances and to everyone who helped make this journey possible. Almond Tree will continue its mission of bringing hope, equipping individuals with practical skills, and opening pathways toward a brighter and more independent future.
Almond Tree — A Place of Hope, Training, and Discipleship.

The 15th Almond Tree Training Seminar began on September 7 and Oct 14 at the Almond Tree Center in Ensenada, marking another meaningful step in our mission of training, discipleship, and transformation.
For these days, participants gathered for an intensive beginner-level and special hair training course. Although temperatures rose above 92°F, everyone remained enthusiastic and eager to learn. The joy of developing new skills, encouraging one another, and sharing the love of Christ made these days especially meaningful.
It was difficult to say goodbye after such a short but meaningful time together. Yet we parted with gratitude and expectation, knowing that these two months were not the end, but the beginning of a new season of growth.
At Almond Tree, we believe that learning a skill can become more than vocational training. It can restore confidence, open new opportunities, and become a starting point for a transformed life.
Following their visit to a nursing home, Almond Tree students visited a rehabilitation center, where they provided haircuts for individuals recovering from addiction.
With sincere hearts and attentive hands, the students approached each haircut with seriousness, care, and dedication. Through this experience, they began to realize that their skills could do more than change someone’s appearance—they could help restore dignity, renew confidence, and remind others that they are valued and loved.
The experience also brought a meaningful change within the students themselves. As they stepped beyond the classroom and served people facing difficult circumstances, they gained confidence in their abilities and discovered a deeper purpose for what they were learning. This was more than a practical training session; it was an opportunity to put the love of Christ into action. They were not simply learning how to give a haircut—they were learning how to serve with love.
At Almond Tree, we believe that transformation begins within and extends outward into the community. Our mission is to equip individuals with practical skills for greater independence while nurturing hearts ready to serve others. We pray that these students will continue to grow in both skill and character, becoming instruments of God’s love and hope wherever their paths lead.
The 13th Almond Tree was held at the Campo Amor Church, Ensenada from July to August 2024. The entire process of learning skills with passion is captured at a glance.
The 11th birthday party was a time to realize that we came to this earth for a reason and find meaning in life.
